Black Robe is a film about the lives of regular people. People find it attractive because it is based on their way of living life and culture. It was really amazing that the film had real Cree, Mohawk, and Algonquian languages. Bruce Beresford, the director, got the concept in 1985 after reading a book written by Brian Moore. He was so taken with the story that he wanted to translate it for the big screen. He put a lot of effort into making sure the characters in the film spoke and looked like actual, everyday people. As a result, seeing Black Robe is like watching the book’s pages come to life, and every detail was carefully designed to sound and look perfect.
