War is never a nice thing. It’s cold, scary, and really sad. The movie Come and See shows all of that, especially the tough parts of World War II from the Russian side. The person who made the movie, Elem Klimov, wanted to tell the true story of what happened in Russia during World War II. Some Russians didn’t like the movie because they thought it didn’t match their own stories. But a lot of history experts really liked Klimov’s work because he showed the real stuff – like the tough times in war, the camps where bad things happened, and the people who suffered. The movie is honest and shows war how it really was.
